Mike Hoer Lead Guitar/Vocals
Mike first became interested in music at 9 years old watching his cousin play guitar. When his cousin
wasn’t around, Mike would grab the guitar and play. Completely self taught, he played around on an old
acoustic his mother had as a kid until buying his first guitar at 16. Mike joined his first band at 18. While
playing covers they wrote originals. “We quickly discovered getting anything done with originals in this
area was pointless so we stuck to playing covers.” For the next few years, Mike was involved with several
well known bands in the Mid-Missouri area. During college in Springfield, MO he would sit in with bands
and attend open mic nights at the local bars. After moving back to the Mid Missouri area, Mike began
looking to start a band or join an existing band. Not able to find the right group of people, he was about to
give up. Then in the summer of 2007, Mike met drummer Gary Cross. Success didn’t come right away
but in November of 2008, Gary called about the opening with Split Decision and Mike had found his home.
